Marcelo Cueto A. is a food-producing company whose main line of business is the manufacturing of healthy snacks and toast marketed under its brands Breviss and Tosti. Despite the pandemic, they have boosted their output in response to an increased demand, which was coincidental with the onset of the sanitary emergency.
As they belong to the food industry, their employees are considered essential and were already compliant with several preventive health protocols, such as the use of masks and gloves. Now a number of new measures have been added, including physical distancing, temperature control, and clothing disinfection of everyone entering the premises. The implementation of these measures at their plant in Pilar, in the province of Buenos Aires, has enabled them to reduce to a minimum the number of stoppages resulting from suspected cases.
Over the past years they have kept their staff stable, and now they have even had to hire more people due to the growth in demand. During this new stage, BICE has granted them a working capital loan aimed at assisting them during these uncertain times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in terms of production.
For the last decade, BICE and Marcelo Cueto have developed a virtuous relationship, under which the bank has participated in the financing of the construction and expansion of their plant and in the purchase of the equipment required to add new products to their product range.
