In the south of the province of Tucumán, in Acheral town, Citromax is located- one of the main lemon producers and industrial complexes in the world. The company is part of other six companies, whose headquarters is in New Jersey, USA.
Since they settled down in Tucumán in 1964, Citromax has been producing fresh lemons, oil, concentrated juice and dehydrated lemon peel. They have two fruit packaging and processing plants and 4,600 hectares of plantations, 400 with organic certification.
The company has over 500 permanent workers, reaching over 3,000 in high season. Today they produce over 180 thousand tons of fruit a year and export 85% of their production to different countries of the European Community and the USA, with the support of BICE’s credits.
“The bank has been our support for several years and it was a fundamental pillar for us to move our plant from Tafi Viejo to Acheral town, by financing a great deal of this strategic project. They also provide their support every harvest season with their credits for exports”, they pointed out from the company.
